Title: Methodology and Findings
My
project is about to use IoT and in order to that I have to find a wifi module
that will connect to micro-controller. The
ESP8266 WI-FI module is used in this project because it is a very user-friendly
and low-cost tool for providing internet access to the project. The module can
function both as an access point that can create a hotspot and as a station
that can connect to Wi-Fi. Besides, it can quickly download data and upload it
to the internet, making the Internet of Things as simple as possible. It can also
fetch data from the internet using the API, so the project could have access to
any information available on the internet, making it smarter. Another feature
of this module is that it can be programmed using the Arduino IDE, which makes
it much more user-friendly.
The
Feature of ESP8266: • Low cost, compact and powerful Wi-Fi
Module • Power Supply: +3.3V only • Current Consumption: 100mA • I/O Voltage: 3.6V (max) • I/O source current: 12mA (max) • Built-in low power 32-bit MCU @ 80MHz • Can be used as Station or Access
Point or both combined • Supports Deep sleep (<10uA) • Can be programmed using Arduino IDE
or AT-commands or Lua Script
